Arthritis is the most common skeletal problem we see in dogs and cats. Just like in humans, the cartilage of joints in our pets also degrades over time. Other conditions (such as hip dysplasia) can cause the joint shape to be changed so that the cartilage wears away more quickly and signs of pain are seen at a younger age.
